Aalberts Integrated Piping Systems (IPS), a global leader in advanced integrated piping systems for the distribution and control of liquids and gasses, highlights three unique products with durable, resilient and chemical-resistant designs that make them ideal for data center applications, including the “Apollo”® LD/WD 141 series resilient seated butterfly valves; “Apollo”® 70 series bronze hose cap and chain ball valve; and the Apollo”® 215 L high-performance butterfly valves. These products are ideal choices when building a data center due to their versatile sizing options, robust durability, and bi-directional sealing, which ensures reliable performance in critical cooling, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
With a body made of superior ASTM A536 cast ductile iron, the “Apollo”® LD/WD 141 seated butterfly valve features a durable UV-resistant epoxy powder coating that resists a broad range of chemicals. It provides a resilient elastomeric seating and concentric disc design and is rated for working pressures up to 200 pounds per square inch (psi) for 2- to 12-inch sizes and 50 psi for sizes ranging from 14-48 inches. The “Apollo”® LD/WD 141 is available in a lug style body in sizes 2 to 48 inches, with full tapped-through lug design bolts directly to ANSI class 125 and 150 flanges, with no need for gaskets. It is also available in a one-piece wafer body design in sizes ranging from 2 to 12 inches that bolts between ANSI class 125 and 150 flanges. Offered in a choice of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) or nitrile seats with molded-in stiffener rings, the blowout-proof design isolates the body from the process media and ensures compatibility with a wide range of fluids.
The “Apollo”® 70 series bronze hose cap and chain ball valve offers several versatile installation options for different piping connections, including national pipe taper (NPT) or solder end hose thread. A full-pressure rated heavy brass hose cap ensures durability and safety under high-pressure conditions, and the blowout-proof stem design enhances safety by preventing stem ejection. The valve features an adjustable packing gland that allows for ease of maintenance and long service life. Premium-modified polytetrafluoroethylene (MPTFE) or reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (RPTFE) seats and stem packing provide excellent sealing and guarantee low friction operation. A stainless steel lever and stem nut offer corrosion resistance and durability.
The “Apollo”® 215 L high-performance butterfly valve features a double offset design that provides improved sealing and reduced wear compared to concentric designs. Its blowout-proof shaft is made of 17-4 PH stainless steel, which offers high strength and good corrosion resistance and is designed by the API 609 standard. Universal mounting dimensions allow for direct mounting of either Apollo actuators or manual operators. The “Apollo”® 215 L uses a multi-bolt retainer that holds and supports the seat, as well as an extended neck that allows for 2 inches of pipe insulation. The design also includes a free-floating, pressure-assisted solid seat that creates a positive seal under both low and high-pressure requirements. The “Apollo”® 215 L is made with a robust one-piece cast body available in weldable cast B-grade steel (WCB) carbon steel or CF8M/316 stainless steel stainless steel.
