Drop in Fluid Power Shipments

April 2021 Industry Growth Trends

The latest data published by the National Fluid Power Association shows industry shipments of fluid power products for April increased 35.4% when compared to April 2020 but decreased 9.5% when compared to March of this year. Mobile hydraulic, industrial hydraulic, and pneumatic shipments all jumped between 25% and 35% in April compared to last April, when indexes dropped sharply with the onset of the COVID crisis. Mobile hydraulic, industrial hydraulic, and pneumatic shipments dropped about 12% in April from their high levels in March. The charts below are drawn from data collected from more than 80 manufacturers of fluid power products by NFPA’s Confidential Shipment Statistics (CSS) program.
