Eric Lanke to Serve on the NAM’s Council of Manufacturing Associations Board of Directors

Eric Lanke, President/CEO of the National Fluid Power Association, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Council of Manufacturing Associations (CMA) of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).

The CMA is made up of over 260 manufacturing trade associations that work together on behalf of manufacturing in the United States. CMA members serve an important role in working with the NAM to unite the manufacturing community, and ultimately the broader business community, on the common goals of strengthening the industry for more jobs, investment, and innovation.

“I am honored to serve as a director of the NAM’s Council of Manufacturing Associations,” said Lanke. “It’s a tremendous opportunity to bring fluid power more fully into the awareness of many industries that depend on our technology, and to work in partnership with other manufacturing leaders to strengthen manufacturing’s role in shaping the policies that will help our sector grow.”

The CMA represents every part of manufacturing in the United States and places high value on the community of manufacturing association executives. “Manufacturers across the country need strong partners to bring about the change Americans voted for in November,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “From the first hours of the Trump transition, when the CMA helped us bring more than 1,100 executives together to pledge their best efforts to unite the country, manufacturers have shown they’re ready to work with the new administration and new Congress, and be the solution in moving policies that will realize the promise of manufacturing in the United States.”

In his role as a CMA Board member, Lanke will attend three Board meetings a year, and provide support for the Council’s four main purposes:

• Identify with the NAM manufacturing issues of common interest and importance;
• Enhance the effectiveness of the manufacturing sector and the affected associations;
• Stimulate associations to work with the NAM to develop policies and strategies to influence legislation and regulation as it affects manufacturing; and
• Support the professional growth of member association leaders and promote the greater understanding of manufacturing association management.
