Norstat Offers Janus Light Curtains

Norstat now offers a line of Janus category 4 safety light curtains that include models with built-in muting functions.

The line allows the setting of each function to be easily performed via the main connector, so there is no need for configuration software. Janus also offers incorporation of the main safety functions, including self-testing of the solid-state outputs, external device monitoring, and start/restart interlock functions. The line’s rugged design delivers exceptional reliability in the field, thanks to its robust construction and the exceptional level of protection to any external interference, including optical and EMC.

The Janus family has incorporated a built-in muting function in all its models, making them an ideal solution for palletizing applications due to the configuration flexibility of the muting time-outs. MI series long-range models are available with ranges up to 60 meters (197 feet) for hand protection, with a resolution of 40 mm (1.5 inches) or for body detection utilizing two, three, or four beams.

The Janus carries a protection rating of IP 65 and operates in temperatures from -10°C to 55°C (14°F to 131°F).
