Emerson announced on Sept. 21 the recipient of its 2022 ASCO Engineering Scholarship Program.
Grant Cignarella, of Hopewell Valley, New Jersey, a master’s candidate in mechanical engineering at Villanova University expecting to graduate in May, receives a $5,000 scholarship from Emerson. Emerson also awards $1,000 to Villanova’s engineering department.
The program rewards U.S. engineering, instrumentation, systems, and automation colleges and their students for academic excellence, service to others, and leadership potential.
“The collaborative effort to solve real-world problems and elevate people’s standard of living with science and technology is what makes engineering a great profession,” Cignarella said in a Sept. 21 press release. “It is an honor to be selected as an ASCO Engineering Scholar and receive Emerson’s assistance to fulfill my passion for engineering as my lifelong career.”
To date, Emerson has awarded $174,000 in scholarships and grants to 29 engineering students and their colleges. Over the past 15 years, Emerson has opened its ASCO Engineering Scholarship Program to U.S. citizens and legal U.S. residents. Applicants must have completed their sophomore year in a bachelor’s degree program or be enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited U.S. educational institution at the time of application.
