The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) entered into force on July 1. To help companies navigate the agreement’s new regulations, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers produced a guide with an abundance of resource links and a chronology of USMCA’s implementation.
AEM had undertaken more than three years of advocacy regarding the new trade agreement.
The agreement replaces the North American Free Trade Agreement that had been the framework for trade relations in North America since 1994. NAFTA had broadened 1989’s U.S.-Canada Free Trade Agreement to Mexico to create the largest free trade area in the world.
To help the manufacturing industry navigate USMCA, AEM published a guide on its website. AEM urges companies affected by USMCA to review the guide for information about changes effecting the equipment manufacturing industry.
The guide can be accessed at www.aem.org/news/aem-publishes-usmca-implementation-guide/.
