AutomationDirect Announces New Sensors, Cable

New products from AutomationDirect include additions to its line of sensors and a servo motor cable. 

Flowline Reflective Ultrasonic Level Sensors

AutomationDirect has added EchoPod and EchoTouch reflective ultrasonic liquid level sensors featuring Flowline’s proprietary reflective technology. 

Flowline level sensors provide reliable level measurements for applications that weaken signal strength and reduce measurement reliability due to condensation. Newly available models include a general-purpose version and an intrinsically safe version for hazardous environments. Both are available with continuous level measurement, switching, and control capabilities. 

The standard 4-20 mA output can be monitored by a PLC or other controller. Models with four relays can be configured for level alarms and/or stand-alone level control, such as automatic fill or empty functions. All sensors are configured using the free-to-download WEBCAL software and provide limited configuration via the integral pushbutton display module.

Proximity Sensors Added

AutomationDirect added several small sensors to its proximity sensor lineup. New rectangular 8 mm x 16 mm inductive proximity sensors are available in flush and nonflush mounting options, NO or NC outputs, and NPN or PNP logic. 

The new 8-mm round capacitive proximity sensors are able to detect materials other than metal. These capacitive proximity sensors have a potentiometer to adjust sensitivity and are available with an M8 quick-disconnect or a 2-meter (6.5-foot) pigtail cable. 

Also added are two new series of photoelectric sensors. Both the 8 mm round and 8 x 8 x 4 mm rectangular models are available in diffuse with background suppression, diffuse, retroreflective, and through-beam sensing styles. These can sense objects up to a distance of 2.2 meters (7.21 feet).

LUTZE Silflex Servo Motor Cable

AutomationDirect has added LUTZE Silflex servo motor industrial cable, ideal for harsh environments. 

LUTZE Silflex servo motor cable is designed for servo drive and motor combinations. Silflex can be used with or without conduit, reducing labor and materials costs. The TPE jacket is oil and sunlight resistant and suitable for dry, damp, wet, and direct burial locations.

The cable has four conductors and an additional shielded signal pair for feedback or brake control.  Carrying multiple approvals and ratings, LUTZE Silflex cable can be used for most stationary servo motor applications. LUTZE cable comes in various wire sizes and can be ordered in 1-foot increments with a 10-foot minimum.
