IMTS Premiers ‘Digital Destinations’ in Place of Canceled Event

With its regular event canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Manufacturing Technology Show is launching the “digital destinations” of IMTS Network and IMTS spark.

IMTS Network is a digital channel that will broadcast live on IMTS.com Sept. 14-18 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (CT) each day. The channel features more than a dozen different shows of original programming.

Structured similarly to a morning news channel but dedicated to the manufacturing technology industry, IMTS Network co-anchors Peter Eelman and Jules McGuire will guide viewers through four hours of upbeat, fast-paced original programming. Each day features fresh content. Major themes include rebuilding the supply chain, digital manufacturing technology, small business success, and a behind-the-scenes look into the shops, institutions, and technologies that shape the world.

After daily content airs, it will loop until the start of the next day’s show. At the end of IMTS Network week, programming will remain available on demand at IMTS.com/network.

IMTS spark, presented in conjunction with Gardner Business Media, features a mix of live exhibitor demos, live interviews, daily updates, hosted shows, and Q&A interactions. It launches Sept. 21 and runs through March 15, 2021. Content is available to registered visitors and includes reports from the IMTS Conference and the AM In-Depth, the IMTS Investor Forum, Parts Cleaning Series, MMS Top Shops: Shop Talk Educational Series, Sustainable Manufacturing, and MTForecast conferences.

IMTS spark also provides a vehicle for making connections. Registrants can join coffee chats, lunch and learns, and happy hours to network with fellow manufacturers, technology builders, OEMs, industry legends, economists, investors, reporters, and others who are passionate about advanced manufacturing.

The Association for Manufacturing Technology’s Emerging Technology Center and Start Up Showcase will feature developments such as how artificial intelligence and machine learning improve visual inspection, and it will cover projects from Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

To prepare for IMTS spark, attendees can register for a free MySpark Planner account and begin researching solutions.
