Motion Industries Opens Dallas Distribution Center

Motion Industries successfully moved into its newly built distribution center in Grand Prairie, Tex.—in the center of the DFW Metroplex. New hanging and roller conveyor lines, as well as a bevy of forklifts efficiently move product orders throughout the warehouse portion of the 156,000 ft2 facility, which nets the company almost 50,000 ft2 over the previous location. The increased number of shelves and docks allows for greater inventory, as well as faster picking and delivery to customers. It houses approximately 50,000 SKUs. The two-story office includes distribution center offices, Southwest division offices, and a full-scale branch with retail space. The build shop offers fluid power conversion, gearbox assembly, cut rails and shafting, and valve assembly. The team plans to expand shop capabilities by adding a bore-to-size lathe and increase shafting and rail stock.
