PHD, Inc. Celebrates 60 Years in Business

PHD, Inc., Fort Wayne and Huntington, Ind., was founded in 1957, and its first product, the Tom Thumb® pneumatic cylinder is still popular today. The company now manufactures a broad offering of products used for industry automation—actuators that provide the motion to push, pull, lift, rotate, turn, grip, and orient parts or materials in a variety of manufacturing processes. PHD, Inc. employs over 300 people. The Fort Wayne campus includes offices, technology and training center, and an 85,000-ft2 manufacturing and assembly center, as well as YRG Robotics, its master distributorship of Yamaha robots for North America. The Huntingdon facility is a 76,000 ft2 machining and manufacturing facility.
