Shipments Down in July but Overall Growth Continues

July 2021 Industry Growth Trends

The latest data published by the National Fluid Power Association shows the 12-month moving average for pneumatic, hydraulic, and total fluid power shipments continues to grow. These averages have been growing at a steady rate since February. Year-to-date percentage changes for hydraulics continues to grow, with a 15.1% change in July. Mobile hydraulic orders received from August 2020 to July 2021 are currently 131.9% of the orders received from August 2019 to July 2020. When looking at raw index data, mobile hydraulic, industrial hydraulic, and pneumatic shipments in July 2021 were down from June. These charts are drawn from data collected from more than 80 manufacturers of fluid power products by NFPA’s Confidential Shipment Statistics (CSS) program.
