Numerous Applications for Schmalz Vacuum End Effectors

The Schmalz modular system for vacuum end effectors (VEE) work with numerous configurations of grippers. Vacuum feed, zone combinations, connection elements, and suction cup connections are available to create a custom end effector for specific needs.

According to a Schmalz press release, highlights of the VEE include fast and cost-effective design for high-speed packaging processes; pick-and-place applications with Delta, SCARA and articulated robots; fully automated filling of cardboard boxes in case packers; use in primary and secondary packaging processes; transporting products into top-loading machines as well as in cardboard box and tray aligners; and use in flexible packaging machines with frequent format changes.

Schmalz said the lightweight VEE promises benefits that include individual configuration, reduced construction and manufacturing effort, and outstanding hygiene properties.
