SCHURTER Releases Products for Tight Spaces

SCHURTER recently released two products designed to fit tight spaces.

High-performance EMC filter

SCHURTER’s FMBC EP double-stage filter family for three-phase systems boasts a compact package ideally suited for today’s space constrained machine and industrial plant construction. Versions with high nominal voltages are particularly suited for a wide field of applications.

Space is scarce in control cabinets for three-phase industrial applications. SCHURTER addressed this problem by downsizing its EMC filter range, which is much more compact than previous generations. The new, almost cuboidal design makes optimum use of the space in the housing. The double-stage filter, built with generously sized film capacitors and chokes with highly permeable cores, provides exceptional broadband filter attenuation.

The double-stage filter family is also appropriate for applications with particularly high EMC emissions, as is frequently encountered in machine operations. Typical applications include automatic production, motor drives, and industrial plant machinery. These powerful filters are also the first choice for modern frequency inverters for motor control.

The FMBC EP series features screw terminals for absolutely safe wiring. A metal flange provides an excellent earth connection when screwed to the chassis. Standard types can be used over a temperature range from -40°C to 100°C (-40°F to 212°F). The filters are designed for currents from 16 A to 230 A at an ambient temperature of 50°C (122°F). They have both ENEC and cURus approval and are recommended for applications up to 520 VAC or even 760 VAC. The standard versions are designed for industrial applications with leakage currents <4 mA. Special variations, rated with <1 mA leakage current, are available for applications where minimizing leakage current is critical.

Fuse clip for 1000 VDC/600 VAC applications

SCHURTER has expanded its portfolio of fuse holders with its CFO series fuse clips.

The new clips are designed to accept fuses measuring 10.3 mm (0.40 in.) in diameter. The low-profile clips mount with M3 screws, rivets, or terminals for THT. The new CFO fuse clip series is suitable for applications with voltages up to 1000 VDC/600 VAC for currents up to 16 A (UL). The operating range extends from -40°C to 125°C (-40°F to 257°F). The clips are made of brass and are available with nickel or tin plating.

Designed for use in tight spaces, the CFO fuse clips provide for compactness of design in higher voltage applications. The clips are compatible with SCHURTER’s AEO and ASO 10.3 x 38 mm (0.40 x 1.5 in.) fuses, and together they are ideal for use in photovoltaic and higher DC voltage applications such as battery chargers and power distribution applications.
