FPDA, ISD to Host 2017 Joint Industry Summit

September 24-27, Nashville, TN
Program Features Keynotes, Workshop Sessions, Supplier Showcase, and Networking

The FPDA Motion and Control Network (FPDA) and the International Sealing Distribution Association (ISD) Joint Industry Summit provides expanded networking opportunities for the leaders of the industries served by these two associations. With a theme of “Amplify Your Future,” the 2017 Joint Industry Summit brings together fluid power and sealing distributors, manufacturers, and other vendors for education, professional networking, and to experience the latest industry products and services at the Showcase.

Keynote Sessions

This four-day program offers many opportunities for association members to build their professional networks with new connections and learn alongside channel partners. This year’s Summit promises to be one of the most exciting and robust programming in some time.

The Opening Keynote Speaker, economist Dr. Chris Kuehl (PhD), is a managing director for Armada Corporate Intelligence and co-founded the company in 1999. He is Armada’s economic analyst and works extensively with trade associations. He is the chief economist for the NACM and the economic analyst for the Fabricators Manufacturers Association, and he writes its bi-weekly publication, Fabrinomics. In the still-volatile market for 2017, Dr. Kuehl will be presenting an economic outlook specific to our sector.

New this year is a joint FPDA/ISD Business Meeting, featuring a panel of industry leaders based on NAW and IBM’s recent trend report, Facing the Forces of Change®: Navigating the Seas of Disruption. Following separate business meetings on Tuesday morning, September 26th, IBM’s distributor expert will facilitate a panel of fluid power and sealing distribution leaders while answering questions around disruption. Today is a time of great change and even greater opportunity for wholesaler-distributors, so this is a do-not-miss session.

Mike Rayburn serves as the closing keynote presenter. His musical summary of the Summit’s programming will offer a true “what-if?” experience for members seeking to maximize opportunity and performance.

Workshop Sessions

UID in-a-Day: FPDA and ISD are always proud to provide the best of the University of Innovative Distribution (UID) with 90-minute sales sessions featuring Don Buttrey and Mike Marks, tackling the topics of sales and business strategy, respectively. UID sessions are held in the morning and afternoon on Monday, September 25th.

Special Events and Networking Opportunities

Kicking off the Nashville experience, the Opening Networking Reception will be held at the renowned Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which will include a tour of the museum.

FPDA and ISD go back to tradition with the Gala Reception, Dinner and Closing Party with energetic music from local talent. Following a sit-down dinner, members will enjoy photo opportunities, impersonators, and dancing the evening away to one of Nashville’s hottest bands.

The Tuesday, September 25 Supplier Showcase offers the latest in fluid power and sealant products and services. The FPDA/ISD Supplier Showcase is designed as an informal program, utilizing only table-top displays. This Showcase always offers a broad spectrum of the latest technical developments, products, and services to meet member needs, all in one congenial place.
