PHD Releases GRM0 Workholding Clamps

PHD recently announced the global availability of the series GRM size 0 as an addition to the GRM family of sheet-metal handling clamps

These clamps are compact and lightweight while providing the industry’s highest clamp force for its size. At 0.54 pounds (0.24 kg) in weight (without tips) they deliver 135 pounds (600 N) of total clamp force. They are available in two jaw styles, the “S” standard and the “F” flange for application flexibility. The size 0 clamp incorporates the same design as the larger GRM clamps.

Additional advantages and benefits include a simple, long-life design providing fast field maintenance. The clamp jaws lock in the closed position, ensuring part retention if air pressure is lost due to line rupture or power loss. Hardened impact plates extend the life of the unit. Ideally, the clamp would be applied where size and weight are critical. The clamp is often used for robotic crossbar transfer press applications and is a superior alternative to vacuum cups and magnetic grippers due to its ruggedness, elimination of part slippage, and part retention in the event of air pressure loss.
