Piab Carton Clamp Tool Promises Simple Set Up

Piab, a manufacturer of gripping and moving solutions, recently released a new carton clamp tool that handles payloads up to 50 kg (110 lbs) with lift assist.

The EOAT device promises increased efficiency, decreased production time, and a simple set up that allows for multiple configurations and accessories. The clamping width is adjustable from 250 mm (10 inches) to 625 mm (25 inches). The tool contains part-presence sensors to ensure the product is handled safely every time. The high-friction clamp plates made of a rubber lining ensure a stable grip.

Several options allow users to complete the clamp tool to their own specifications. A valve package can be configured for either discrete I/O or Ethernet for communication requirements. A lift-assist option provides additional support and faster robotic movements, increasing the payload by 10 kg (22 lbs). A robot mounting riser can extend the robots reach higher or lower depending on the pallet height and placement. A teach pointer allows the robot to reference auxiliary equipment. The pallet hook option allows the tool to pick and place pallets of various types. The pallet hook and slip-sheet system manages pallets and pick-and-place slip sheets between the layers with Piab COAX vacuum technology and suction cups.
